Scott,
I sold 4 19.5's on Craigslist recently for $125.00 that were at least 10 years old. Had an email and call within the first 2 hours online and the guy picked them up the next day. There are a lot of folks looking for deals if they travel short distances or need a spare. This guy only traveled to a few local parks around DFW and didn't care about the age.

Don't forget to snug the 4 bolts on your roof AC unit. I had a similar leak on my 94 Four Winds and that was the problem. Should be something to add to your regular maintenance for checking every couple of years.

If your destination is close to north Austin, I would use 183 off of I-20 instead of 281 and run it all the way in. If you use 83 into Abilene, I would run 84 down through Coleman to Brownwood and continue on 183 into Austin. By the time you get to 281 off of I-20 from Abilene you could be almost half way to Austin.

RE: Gray water tank repair

I recently repaired a 1/2 inch crack on a gray water tank with EternaBond tape and it held. It would allow the tank and crack to move as it was filled without leaking. I could never get a glue joint that would not seperate when the tank expanded as water was added.

I have found it easy, if you know your destinations, to go to the DirecTV website before I leave and enter the zip codes where I will be staying. It will give the coordinates and angle you will need for each location. I preset my dish for the first stop or final stop and you are pretty much ready to go when you arrive. Just takes a few minutes to set up. I rarely use a signal meter or the dish setup on the receiver. And you can always look around at the other campers if you are having trouble on the direction. The angle of the dish is the most important key.

Maybe they still own it but in my recent experience with DirecTV on replacing several receivers, they did not want the old ones back. Told me I could do whatever I wanted to do with them. Sold them and the de-activated cards at a swap meet along with a dish.
This was not the case with the DVR unit. They included a postage paid label and wanted the defective one shipped within 7 days. And you do have to commit to 2 more years of service which was not a problem since I have had them for 10 years already.
Everything is negotiable, depending on how long you may have had service. You just have to speak to the right person.

I would not go with any extended protection plans. I have had DirecTV for about 10 years and just recently had my 1st problem. My 14 month old DVR unit hard drive started acting up and reformatting did not fix the problem. I called customer service and they shipped a new unit with a small charge of 19.95. Small price to pay for 10 years of trouble free service. Once you are an established customer for more than 2 years they will upgrade most receivers for free and even send out an installer. They have treated me well and appear to want to keep my business.

RE: Soft spot in our new - used MH question

I just recently finished replacing carpet with laminate in a 1994 Class A I purchased last year. I had 3 low spots in the kitchen/hall area. After removing the carpet and finding no visible water damage, I used a 2 inch hole saw to drill into 2 of the low or soft spots to see if I could determine what might have caused them. All I could determine was the floor supports were too far apart to properly support the flakeboard subfloor after 13 years. I used pieces of laminate and roofing shingles to level the floor prior to installing the padding and new laminate.
It's possible you may not have any water damage. I would suggest looking inside of your cabinets under a couple of sections of remaining carpet to see if you can find any water stains before entertaining pulling up the laminate, then decide if you can live with the soft spots. Mine were too noticeable not to repair.

Thanks again for all of the input. I will be finishing the install this weekend.
The new replacement manifold has the expansion cuts already built in. I am going back with new bolts and with the final torque at 40 ft/lbs.
I am also going to try the factory install with no gasket. I figure if it leaks I can back out the bolts and install a gasket.
I will be adding cooling ducts to both sides bringing air from the front grill to help cut down on the high heat around the manifold. Also adding new plugs, belts and hoses. I purchased the unit last year with 38k and have traveled about 3k on the old belts and hoses. Figure I need to get them changed before my luck runs out.

Thanks to all for the input.
Based on the link from Jakeman97(Chevy Big Block Torque Values), it looks like 25 is the right torque value. Several have confirmed to start in the middle.
Now I just have to decide: gasket or no gasket. I may start with no gasket and add it if it starts to leak. Now that I have a little experience on this right side I could get the gasket installed in about an hour.

454 Exhaust Manifold bolt torque value needed

I am working on a 1994 454 right side exhaust leak and decided to replace the stock manifold with a NAPA stock replacement. I am ready to install the new manifold and have a couple of questions for those that have done exhaust work on the 454's.
1. Gasket or no gasket when replacing? I have seen several post where gaskets were used with success and a few that say Chevy recommends no gasket.
2. Torque values and bolting sequence when installing new manifold?
Project is going well except for one broken bolt. I was able to get it out after drilling several times and using a square easy out/bolt extractor.
I would be happy to answer any questions for those thinking about trying to fix the typical 454 exhaust leak. I have a few pointers that could make the project go well.
Thanks in advance if you can provide some info.

Onan Generator Voltage Output Problem

Model: 5BGMFA26105D Marquis 5000
I just completed a 2200 mile round trip from Fort Worth to Bristol, TN over the last week.
My Onan Marquis 5000 ran flawlessly on the outbound trip for 2 days or about 18 hours while driving and running 1 roof AC Unit. I was plugged in at the campground and did not run the generator for 5 days. I left Sunday for the return trip to Texas and after about 15 minutes the generator voltage output dropped to about 70-80 volts. I spent the day crossing Tennessee with temps in the high 90’s and no AC. Every hour or so I would restart the generator and sometimes had 120 volts for a few minutes and then voltage would drop again. After shutting down and restarting about 10 times during the day the voltage returned to 120 volts and stayed for the next 3 hours.
I unplugged Monday morning from an overnight stop, started the generator and had 120 volts for the rest of my trip which was about 7 hours.
Note: The generator engine speed did not vary during the voltage drops and I have had no previous issues. It has about 550 hours total time with me adding about 150 of those hours.
I know intermittent problems are the most difficult to diagnose so I am looking for suggestions. I was thinking it could be as simple as a loose wire or maybe a voltage regulator issue.
Any thoughts ??????
